Eco Council

Eco Council are currently working towards the Green Flag award set by Eco Schools. The council, set up by Mrs Willis, meet  regularly to discuss the school’s energy resources and recycling. The council follow a simple seven-step process set by Eco Schools, which helps them to address a variety of environmental themes, ranging from litter and waste to healthy living and biodiversity.

To achieve the Green Flag Award, an action plan has been produced and shared by the team which identifies progress towards achieving elements of the plan. Other children in the school also learn about important environmental issues covered within curriculum work. Our council is currently working hard and putting changes in place to make our school an exemplary eco school.

Year on year, children are involved in ‘The Big Tidy Up’ around Hemlington community.
