We have had a wonderful start to Year 2. We have been very busy doing lots of fun and interesting activities.

In Literacy, we have been looking at familiar stories that we know very well and we have really enjoyed reading The Tiger who came to tea. We acted out the story in drama and even invented new characters who came to tea!

In Numeracy, we have had lots of fun counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s and we can even do it backwards! We love using our Numicon apparatus to work out the number bonds to 10.

Our Context for Learning topic is ‘Rolling over the Ocean’, where we will be learning about Captain James Cook and his voyages. The children will be visit Captain Cooks Museum in October.

Year 2 children competed in a football competition at Goals Soccer Centre. They scored lots of goals and had great fun!
