In year 5 our context focus is on ‘Discovering Decades’. We will be looking at a variety of different areas that have changed from the 1950’s to the 00’s. These include fashion, music, transport, technology, and major events that have happened. As part of the classes on-going project based homework they have been given a particular decade to focus on looking at anything that happened in their decade.

In Literacy we have begun by looking at Roald Dahl and his works. As a class we are currently reading ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’, and are in the process of writing our own versions of traditional fairy-tales after looking at Dahl’s ‘Revolting Rhymes’. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BO2Ivw2S-BQ

Science we are looking at healthy eating and being healthy. A look at our weekly diets showed us what we are eating too much or too little of. Soon we will be looking at exercise and how it affects our bodies.
